2009 EASTER CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
12 April 2009
JUDGE: MRS DONNA HOLMAN (UK)
The extremely high quality of the dogs meant that there were some close decisions to make, and I thank all the exhibitors for accepting them with such grace.
How well you have all worked to keep that wonderful dark and oval eye and true Vizsla head, which is unfortunately disappearing elsewhere. I personally think that you have some of the best Vizslas in the world.
It was also good to see how well muscled and fit they all looked, with the ability to do a days work. Temperament was excellent and all of them were a joy to go over.
Donna Holman
1st – Hungargunn Saturday Night Fever (Cragg)
Minor Puppy In Show
This 6 month old puppy has super head with that typical Vizsla eye, good clean neck going into well laid shoulders good rear angulatin, good bone, moved confidently on nice tight feet, plus holding level topline – well deserved MPIS.
2nd – Hubertus Tailor Made (Cochrane)
Another nice puppy and although different type has many of the same attributes as #1, with very nice head, superb neck and good topline. Will be interesting to watch their progress.
1st – Graebrook Lord Of Scandal (Graebrook Kennels)
Puppy In Show
Smart young dog, great head and eye, with that super neck that seems to be prevalent right through the breed, nice tight elbows with good front and strong quarters, good bone, moved well on tight feet.
2nd – Vidiem Othellos Gold (Masland)
Kind and gentle dark eye, lovely temperament, think he was a little overawed on the day as he didn’t show to his best.
1st – Palaway Metropolis (Macken & Hanney)
Smart looking dog, good bone with good deep chest and rear angulation, held his topline when moving on good feet.

RUNNER-UP BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW
Loved the size and bone of this dog, sire of my BCC and my BPIS. Georgous head and that wonderful dark eye, super strong neck and shoulders, good spring of rib and good strong loin, with superb rear angulation, so well muscled. Moved strongly and with true purpose – pure joy to watch – RCC & RBIS
2nd – Ch Kenazorora The Sun King (Imp UK) (Harris)
I really did like this dog right through, plus super head and expression, lovely eye with well developed nose, took a while to settle but still a well deserved 2nd.
3rd – Ch Graebrook Patriot Games (Graebrook Kennels)
Another with a lot to like, slightly bigger than my 1st and 2nd. Nice tight elbows when stacked, nice clean head with good clean neck. Moved OK.
1st – Grand Ch Hanabrit Ponting The Way (Imp UK) (Harris)
Challenge Dog / Veteran In Show
BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW
Wow! What a mover, this dog really strode out, plus that wonderful noble head and kind dark oval eye with intelligent and lively expression combining a picure of harmony, beauty and strength. Superb construction throughout. My DCC & BIS.
1st – Hungargunn Rattle And Hum (Cragg)
Baby Puppy In Show
Delightful little lady, and stood so very well indeed, even at this age looks such a show girl. So pretty and lovely personality, with everything going for her for the future.
1st – Graebrook Superstition (Graebrook Kennels)
Challenge Bitch / Best Opposite Sex In Show
Really presented a true picture of the quality of Vizsla-ness. Superb little lady in the making with utterly gorgeous head, eye, neck and construction, stood and ran like a dream. BCC. She lost out for MPIS as she was over tired and decided that she had had enough!
1st – Hungargunn Dances With Wolves (Owen)
Junior In Show
Larger bitch with pretty head, good length of rib, but unfortunately on the day she was a little tentative and was not showing at her best.
1st – Gamecall Weatherby Viva (Hine)
Intermediate In Show
Nice size, best head in the class for me, lovely dark eye and kind expression, good all round and well balanced on the move.
2nd – Ch Tanashka Osi Aggie (Quinn)
Different type of head from #1. Much sharper type of bitch. Good topline, good ribcage allowing for plenty of heart room.
3rd – Palaway Ana Bonilla (Macken)
Pleasant bitch, good strong rear, but unfortunately not showing well today, she seemed to feel the heat.
1st – Ch Tanashka Magus Lana (Quinn)
Australian Bred In Show
Slightly rangy for me, but this bitch moved very well, beautiful head with flews with good reach of neck. Good deep chest, good and strong loin, well angulated.
2nd – Ch Hungargunn Femme Fatale (Cragg)
Loved the size of this bitch and everything about her, unfortunately now not quite in shape after a litter – then perhaps she could have been “Femme Fatale”.
1st – Ch Aceweis Carribean Gold (Cragg)
Reserve Challenge Bitch
Another really nicely sized bitch, this young Veteran moved out so very well on superb tight feet, nice deep chest with good all round conformation, good spring of rib, good strong loin. RCC
2nd – Ch Tanashka Dzsentri Klara (Quinn)
Very feminine head and eye, good neck and shoulders, very balanced and moved well keeping level topline.
3rd – Ch Graebrook Breaking Point (Graebrook Kennels)
Very pretty bitch, liked her length of body, good rear angulation, another one that moved so very well.

Liked this dog very much. Super head, lovely dark gentle eye, great nose, nice furnishings, good coat coming through – just the right amount for his age, good shoulders and strong neck, good bone and nice spring of ribs, good rear angulation. Moved very well in class, but in Challenge did not.

Still looks quite the baby, which is so common in the breed – on the whole they are all late maturers. Superb young dog, really beautiful head and neck, wonderful dark kind eye, once adult coat comes through, when he fills out and matures a little, be interesting to see how he goes on.
1st – Ch Nadaf Pens Lord Crispin (IID) CD (Salisbury)

BEST OF BREED
Loved this dog, he very nearly fits my ideal of the breed. Medium sized and really well boned. Superb head with all the atrributes required, including lovely big nose, and his facial furnishing giving him that slightly squarish look. Really strong neck and great shoulders and gives the impression of carrying game easily. Good spring of ribs and good strong loin. Super coat. Moved very well with drive. CC & BOB.
1st – Nadaf Pens Lady Chamara (IID) (Fodor)

Utterly delightful bitch, with that typical Wire personality. Beautiful head and expression and great eye and that lovely big nose. Good coat coming through, good conformation throughout, moved well on superb feet also when moving kept good topline.

RUNNER-UP BEST OF BREED
Really lovely bitch, full of the characteristics of the breed, and in high spirit that is so nice to see. Lovely head, great eye and good strong neck going into good shoulders, good length, good spring of rib plus strong loin and excellent rear angulation. Moved so well, super coat. HWV RBOB.
1st – Ch Throstlenest Miz Monipenny Of Silvanus (Imp UK) (Harris)

I almost went into shock when this bitch came into the ring! To see that cheeky face smiling at me, was almost overwhelming. Apart from becoming slightly portly. With that charming head and moving true I could not have refused her the RBCC. Great wire coat of good length.
